About the Program

Actions, aimed at forest restoration of native forests in degraded areas,

within the limits of the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado biome.

What is it?

The Plant Tree Program is a COLINA action, aimed at forest restoration of native forests in degraded areas, within the limits of the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado biome. The program consists of registering rural landowners who have areas to be restored or areas of riparian forest that must be redone on their properties.

In this way, there is convergence between companies that have an interest or need to encourage the planting of native trees, financing them, and registered rural landowners that have a demand for restoration (these being responsible for hiring labor for technical activities planting). Adherence to the program is voluntary by both parties.

Our HUB is responsible for collecting the seeds, growing the seedlings and choosing the area for planting, and is also committed to offering all the necessary guidance for preparing the soil, planting and maintaining the trees during the two-year period.

Forest restoration is designed taking into account criteria of maximum species diversity and respecting the characteristics of the local ecosystem. A mix of different native species is always planted, respecting criteria of ecological succession dynamics and specific conditions of the chosen location, aiming to restore the native vegetation of the area as close as possible to its original condition.
Therefore, the partnership company becomes responsible for planting a forest, with regular maintenance until its full development, and which can also be monitored through reports and scheduled visits.

  • Recover degraded forest stretches by planting native forest species in permanent preservation areas (APP), legal reserves (RL) and forest fragments;

  • Maximize the biodiversity of restored areas through the creation of ecological corridors along the forest;

  • Improve the water capacity of rivers and springs, controlling soil erosion and reducing the silting of rivers;

  • Assist rural producers in the forest restoration of their areas, contributing to the regularization of the property with the state licensing agency and the registration with the competent property registry;

  • Assist individuals and companies in carrying out voluntary reforestation projects, also aimed at offsetting greenhouse gas emissions;

  • Certify these actions by granting the Seal and Certificate, attributing a positive image to the companies in society, suppliers, employees and the market.
